About the Breast Lift Procedure
Breast lift surgery is performed under anesthesia in an operatory setting. An incision on the breast will be made. The size and location of the incision will be determined by the size and shape of your breast as well as your desired results. Dr. Kim is careful to make the smallest incision needed and place it in an area that can be concealed beneath undergarments and bathing suits. Dr. Kim will lift the breast tissue, reposition and reshape it to improve the shape and firmness of the breast. Dr. Kim may also reposition the nipple if necessary or reduce the size of the areola. Excess skin is trimmed and the incision will be closed.
Breast Lift Recovery
You can expect an initial recovery period of 2 – 4 days following breast lift surgery. Common side effects include swelling, bruising, soreness and itching around the incision site. Initial side effects will subside within 2 – 3 weeks and the breasts will adjust to their new shape and size in about six months to a year. Most patients return to work in about a week. Avoid heavy lifting and strenuous activity for 6 weeks following breast implant surgery. You will have a scar at the incision site, which will fade over time.
